OPENING DOORS WITH A CATHOLIC SCHOOL EDUCATION
Communicating CSEF’s vision was at the heart of our branding efforts: Make a Catholic school education available to all families in Western Oregon who desire it for their children – no matter where they live, which Catholic school they wish to attend, or their ability to pay. We built a brand that strived to convey the key values behind that mission and the meaning of “Catholic”: all-embracing.
We shaped an approachable, friendly and whimsical design, suggesting the warm and playful nature of children in school. At the same time, the brand language works to illustrate CSEF as a trusted and inclusive organization that does good, important work with their donors’ contributions. The brand feels inviting, inspiring and fun, reminding the audience how important and enriching a good education can be.
CSEF’s new approach to fundraising required a deft touch to illustrate in simple terms the unique ways the organization helps kids. Instead of focusing on a particular school, CSEF invests in individual children, helping them attend the Catholic school that works best for them. Donors sympathetic to Catholic schools needed to understand how their contributions would help both these kids and Catholics schools at the same time. Using our new established graphical standards, our video explains the complexity this type of fundraising system, while also engaging the viewer emotionally and inspiring them to get involved.
The website demonstrated the need and made the case to donors that CSEF’s unique role belonged among the other charities they supported and gave them key tools to get involved, not just through cash donations, but in many other ways some may have never imagined.
